Gen Z is often portrayed as a generation that no longer goes out, drinks less alcohol, and has turned its back on traditional nightlife. But is this image even accurate? While the media and the industry are intensely debating the supposed “party fatigue” of the younger generation, we’re speaking directly with the people at the center of it all.
How does Gen Z party today? What role do community, belonging, and safe spaces play? To what extent are queer, LGBTQIA+, BIPoC, and community-oriented formats gaining importance? From coffee raves and sauna raves to daytime events and sober-friendly concepts—we explore how party culture is changing and what opportunities this creates for clubs and event organizers.
Together with young voices from Berlin and Zurich, Emiko Gejic—artist, cultural creator, activist, founder of Berlinsidestories, managing director of Urbane Praxis e.V., and board member and press spokesperson for the Berlin Club Commission—discusses which needs are often overlooked, which clichés do not reflect reality, and how clubs can truly reach the next generation.
